Brian Meacham is Director of Risk & Regulatory Consulting at Crux Consulting, Boston, MA and Adjunct Professor in Fire Safety Engineering at Lund University, Sweden. Over his 40-year professional career, he has held positions in engineering consulting and academia, helping to bring more science into practice, and practice into engineering education.

Throughout his career, Brian has explored three primary topics: performance-based design for fire, fire risk analysis, and performance-based building regulatory systems. His research, teaching and practice has often reflected issues at the intersection of these areas. His focus in recent years has been on sustainable and fire resilient built environments, and sociotechnical systems and systems thinking approaches to fire safety and building regulation.

At Brandskydd 2025, Brian will talk about Experiences from Grenfell Tower and how major regulatory changes can impact the sector.
